1. Green Tea:
You all must be wondering that how green tea is helpful for the growth of your eyelashes but you just have to take advantage of the beneficial properties of green tea, such as flavonoids. The idea is to dip a cotton ball in green tea and spread it over the eyelashes. The tea will increase the growth and help prevent the follicles and it also allows your eyelashes an extensive growth. Use of green tea is very helpful for your tired eyes and as well as your eyelashes. Just ensure that there is no unwanted makeup on your eyes you just have to soak a cotton ball in chilled green tea and gently tap it on your eyelashes.
2. Gentle care:
As the name suggests that sometimes unknowingly you can be hard on your eyelashes. Just make sure that if you want thick and full growth of your eyelashes than you have to pay little extra care while touching them or removing your eye makeup. Be gentle with the area around your eye – the skin is very delicate here and the hair of your eyelashes is very easy to break off. Just make sure that you should avoid any rubbing and scrub around your eyes. By doing gentle patting which is a safer way to make sure that your eyelashes stay intact without causing any hair damage.
3. Use of natural products to remove eye makeup:
One thing is very important and must be followed daily is that you should always remember to remove all the makeup at night so that your eyes and face can breathe. If you sleep with makeup on your eyes and face, it can lead to skin damage and can even cause an eye infection. If you will not remove mascara from your eyes at night than this will make your eyelashes dry and further cause them to break. As well the dried mascara will attract dirt and bacteria which can cause infection and itchiness in your eyes. To remove your eye makeup by using natural products will help your lashes grow naturally such as you can use coconut oil or organic makeup remover pads to take all of your makeup off each night. Healthy eyelashes will grow much quicker than unhealthy eyelashes.
4. Petroleum Jelly:
The next important way among all the top 15 ways to grow eyelashes is the use of petroleum jelly. Yes by applying petroleum jelly to your eyelashes before you go to bed. Just swipe petroleum jelly on your eyelids. Leave it on and you will notice the difference after regular usage.
The best thing is that petroleum jelly moisturizes and soothes your eyelashes. Avoid eye contact after applying petroleum jelly. Gently Wash your face in the morning with clean water.
5. Use of Lemon and olive oil:
The next in the list is the use of lemon and olive oil. The use of olive oil helps to protect your eyelashes, condition them, and help to increase the length of eyelashes. By adding lemon essential to the olive oil you can enhance the healthy properties of olive oil. Peel of the lemon act as a natural antiseptic and antimicrobial agent. Just in case you don’t have lemon essential with you, peel out the lemon and then soak it with olive oil for two-three days, apply the mixture before you go off to sleep and wash your face in the morning with clean water.
6. Homemade serum for eyelashes:
This is also one of the most effective ways to grow your eyelashes. This is one of my own favorite tips which I wanted to mention, this is actually a homemade Eyelash Thickening Serum. This serum is made by using two things which include some coconut oil and a few drops of essential oil, but I think the name makes it sound more impressive. Coconut oil is packed with beneficial fatty acids that can help strengthen your lashes. And a little bit of lavender essential oil provides additional nourishment and a fragrance which will provide you nice overnight sleep!
7. Combing and brushing of eyelashes:
This is also a very basic and important way to grow your eyelashes. As your hair requires daily brushing, the same goes for your eyelashes that you have to brush your eyelashes too. You just have to follow a simple basic step that you have to get into the routine of using an eyelash comb to brush your eyelashes. By following this simple trick and without putting much effort you can make your lashes look thicker and gorgeous. Just make sure that you comb your eyelashes before putting mascara so that you can avoid any clumps and this will make them look separated with each other. If you brush your lashes twice a day with a comb it will help to lead an extensive growth of lashes.
8. Maintain Proper balance Diet:
As we all know that diet plays an important role to keep our body fit because a properly balanced diet will provide your body parts with extra nourishment. For nice and thicker eyelashes you should start following a proper healthy diet which should be high in protein and vitamins. Foods like fish, eggs, beans, and yogurt are all good choices that can contribute to healthy lashes. Soy protein is also beneficial for reproducing lash growth.
The lack of nutrition in the body can lead to hair damage and unhealthy lashes. You should avoid eating junk food and opt instead for a diet loaded with healthy whole foods. You have to cut down all your sugar craving, gluten and fast and packaged foods will help eliminate whole body inflammation, promote clear and healthy skin. Also, be sure to stay hydrated – drink plenty of water daily, at least half your weight in ounces.
9. Healthy Foods:
In addition to eating a healthy diet, you can also take some whole food supplements to help boost your overall health and wellness. Here are some of my favorites.
Foods Rich in Niacin:
If you want to have those thick and gorgeous lashes you should start eating foods rich in niacin (vitamin B3) it will help you to have those gorgeous lashes you have always dreamed of. Below we have explained some benefits that niacin can do:
It increases the blood circulation on your hair follicles. Niacin helps your body break down keratin – an important protein needed for eyelash growth. It will help your lashes from becoming dry and brittle
What all type of food you should eat: grass-fed beef, tuna fish, mushrooms, peanuts, green peas, and sunflower seeds.

As we all know that food rich with vitamin C keeps our immune system strong. But it also Protects your eyelashes from toxins, infections, and diseases
It prevents your hair follicle irritation. It will not cause any damage to hair follicles and will also help in the growth of your eyelashes.
What type of food you should eat: pineapples, tomatoes, kale, berries, grapefruit and Brussels sprouts.
Food which has vitamin E:
Vitamin E is an antioxidant agent that will not only improves your immune system function but also protects your hair follicles from causing damage from free-radicals that keep your eyelashes from growing. Vitamin E has the major power of providing blood and oxygen into hair follicles. Vitamin E decreases hair follicle irritation. Vitamin E reduces dry and brittle eyelashes. Vitamin E repairs, damaged hair follicles. Vitamin E helps in cellular reproduction and reduces the risk of eyelash breakage.
Foods to eat those are a good source of vitamin E: hazelnuts, kale, spinach, sunflower seeds, blueberries, peanut butter, avocados and take a high-quality vitamin E supplement.
Foods Rich in Vitamin H:
Vitamin H (biotin) encourages thick eyelashes and prevents them from drying out. In addition, Biotin helps your body absorb vital nutrients such as fats, amino acids, and carbohydrates which are needed to stimulate healthy lashes. Foods to eat to achieve long thick eyelashes: bananas, mushrooms, eggs, walnuts, beans, nut butter, and black-eyed peas.
Foods Rich in Calcium: As we all know that calcium is very important for bone strength but did you also know that it helps in your eyelash growth? In fact, eating foods rich in calcium has a lot of benefits such as it prevents eyelashes breakage and also reduces lash damage due to hypothyroidism
Foods you should eat which are a rich source of calcium: dairy products, peas, okra, collard greens, salmon, and tofu. Take a whole food calcium supplement along with magnesium to encourage hair and eyelash health and growth.
10. Massage your eyelids:
Messaging your eyelids help and improves blood circulation to the hair follicles. With this method, it means that more nutrients reach the follicles and as a result, your lashes grow faster. Before you start message you have to wash your hands thoroughly and place a couple drop of coconut oil on your lids. Use your fingertips to massage your eyelids and lash line in small circular motions. Do this for five minutes, twice a day for three months to achieve better results.
11. Use of oils:
There are several kinds of oils which are highly nourishing oils that will not only help protect your lashes but will also increase the growth. Many of us know the fact that by applying oil daily before going to bed will give a soothing effect to your tired eyes and tired eyelashes. You can apply it with the help of a cotton swab or a makeup-free mascara brush. Below I have mentioned some of my own favorite lash lengthening oil blends:
- Castor and Olive Oil
Mix one teaspoon of both the oils castor oil and olive oil and apply before going off to sleep. Rinse it in the morning with cold water.
- Aloe vera eye mask
This is one of my own personal favorite you just have to mix one teaspoon each of burdock oil, castor oil, and Aloe Vera jell. Add two drops of vitamin E and vitamin A. Use this mixture once a week to really nourish and baby your lashes.
- Coconut oil
As we have mentioned earlier also that coconut oil is loaded with so many therapeutic properties. It will not only prevent your lashes but also keeps it infection and bacteria free which encourage thick luxurious growth. You just have to take a roller bottle and fill it with coconut oil which has to be fragrance-free and apply to your eyelashes at before bedtime and after having removed your makeup. If you are feeling that it’s too oily, use a clean cloth to blot away any excess. Repeat this procedure 3 times a week to achieve extra lubrication and nourishment. Just make sure that you should protect your eyes to get any of these oils because they could cause irritation. Clean out all the excess oil with the help of cotton swab.
12. Coconut Milk:
Yes, you heard it right coconut is a great idea to grow long and thick eyelashes. Coconut milk is full of natural, healthy fat, and nourishes your lashes. Soak a cotton pad in full-fat coconut milk and place it on your eyes for about 15 minutes. Rinse with cool water and pat dry.
13. Egg Mask:
This is also a very effective way of growing eyelashes. Eggs contain biotin and B-group vitamins, which help to provide strength to your hair and eyelashes and prevent their loss.
You just have to mix 1 egg and 1 tbsp of glycerine or petroleum jelly. Apply the mixture to your eyelashes. You can repeat the same process for 3 times a week for the better results you have to keep following the procedure for several months.
You just have to be little careful when it comes to the eyelashes and you should always clean them no matter how tired and sleepy you are. Leaving makeup overnight can lead damage to your eyes and eyelashes. So just make sure that you remove your makeup thoroughly before going on the bed. Use natural removers which act as a good cleanser.
15. Resist fake lashes:
You should always avoid using these fake eyelashes, it will cause damage to your real eyelashes and also cause long-term damage to your real lashes and may even stunt growth.
There are a few more tips which can be beneficial for you in growing your eyelashes, make sure that you should never pull your eyelashes. Many women’s by mistake pull them during curling. Just keep in mind that the roots of the eyelashes are not that strong, and they are easily breakable. There is no treatment which can provide you instantly. But for sure after a few weeks, you will start noticing the new changes. It is connected to the phases of eyelash growth.
If you care about your lashes on daily basis it can improve the overall condition of your lashes and prevent any further damage. But you can’t influence your genes. In an average, a normal person loses 4 eyelashes in a day. If you lose more than 4 eyelashes in a day, contact your doctor immediately and check your thyroid gland.
In this article, we have compiled the top 15 ways to grow your eyelashes and I am sure that these important factors will help you to achieve those long and beautiful eyelashes naturally without using any eyelash extension which can cause irritation and damage to your real lashes.
